Dresden Railway Successfully Reopened on Schedule – BAUGRUND DRESDEN as Geotechnical Partner
With the timetable change on December 14, 2025, the modernized Dresden Railway line between Berlin Südkreuz and Blankenfelde was successfully commissioned. The upgraded 16-kilometer section for long-distance and regional services now features four tracks, new bridges, full electrification, and noise barriers.
From 2019 to 2025, BAUGRUND DRESDEN supported DB InfraGO AG as geotechnical advisor. Their scope of work included more than 1,500 individual tasks, comprising geotechnical assessments, design reviews, and on-site technical construction supervision. This involved complex specialized deep foundation methods such as bored pile foundations, sheet pile walls, and grouted ground anchors.
We are proud to have played a significant role in ensuring the timely and safe commissioning of this vital transportation infrastructure project.
